หลังจากที่ Samsung ออกมาให้ข่าวแล้วว่าจะไม่มีการเปิดตัว Samsung Galaxy S III ที่งาน Mobile World Congress 2012 ปลายเดือนนี้ Samsung เตรียมที่จะเปิดตัว Samsung Galaxy S II Plus ที่งานแทน

ล่าสุดมีรายงานข่าวจาก Eldar Murtazin นักวิเคราะห์มือถือและบรรณาธิการของเว็บไซต์ Mobile-Reviewได้ออกเผยข้อมูลจากภาพที่เขาทวีตออกมานั้นเป็นภาพของ Samsung Galaxy S II Plus ที่เตรียมจะเปิดตัวที่งาน Mobile World Congress 2012 โดย Samsung Galaxy S II Plus ที่หลุดออกมา โดย Samsung Galaxy S II Plus จะมาพร้อมกับระบบปฏิบัติการ Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ที่มี TouchWiz, จอแสดงผลแบบ WVGA, หน่วยประมวลผล dual-core 1.5GHz และหน้าจอความละเอียด 800×480 พิกเซล คาดว่าตัวนี้อาจจะถูกเปิดตัวในงาน Mobile World Congress 2012 เดือนกุมภาพันธ์นี้
