ด้วยการที่ Samsung มี Galaxy Nexus สมาร์ทโฟน Ice Cream Sandwich ที่มาจาก Google แท้ๆ ทำให้การการอัพเดทแอนดรอยด์เวอร์ชั่นใหม่ๆ ของ Samsung เป็นไปได้อย่างรวดเร็วล่าสุด Samsung จะเปิดให้อัพเดทแอนดรอยด์สมาร์ทโฟนตระกูล Galaxy ให้เป็น Ice Cream Sandwich ในช่วงไตรมาสแรกของปีหน้า โดยนำร่องด้วยรุ่น Galaxy S II และ Galaxy Note และยังมีรุ่นอื่นๆที่ Samsung มีแผนจะอัตเดตเป็น Ice Cream Sandwich ตามมาภายหลังได้แก่ Samsung Galaxy R, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 และ Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
