Country manager Nathakorn Potejanasaja said the company's strategy this year was to focus its provision of hardware, software and solutions on five areas: core storage, backup and recovery systems, information intelligence group systems, security and data-centre management.

"We have products and services to support large enterprises, mid-sized and growing business in the areas of manufacturing, retailing, healthcare, education, oil and gas, media and entertainment, as well as hotel and real estate," Nathakorn said, adding that EMC supplied its products, software, services and total solutions through business partners.

In the first quarter of fiscal 2010, the company's revenue grew by nearly 40 per cent year on year, and by more than 15 per cent over the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009.

Market-research firm IDC reports that EMC reached a market share of 19.1 per cent for total external storage in the Thai market in 2009, making it the No 2 player.

The company believes it will achieve market leadership in external storage within the next couple of years.

Nathakorn said EMC Thailand was focusing on a business-partner-centric model in order to develop partners with specialist and expert skills to cover the market. The company was concentrating on its existing customers and planned to expand its customer base by acquiring new accounts from competitors.

The company believes it will generate double-digit revenue growth this year.
