Post by: Nick on December 02, 2010, 01:25:01 AM
We have written about this problem called “Windows can’t find regsvr.exe” which you can solve yourself after reading the solution. There was one more problem reported by one of our readers that Regsvr.exe has stopped working.
If you are also facing the same problem then here is the solution to solve the problem.

Solution:

1. Go to Start Menu

2. Choose Computer Properties

3. From Tab menu choose Advanced and than Performance - > Settings and then Data Execution Prevention.

4. Select “Turn On DEP for all programs and services except those I select” and press button “Add…”  and browse to C:\Windows\System32 and choose the regsvr32.exe file. When you get the message stating it could make your computerbecome unprotected and vulnerable to attacks, just click OK to continue

5. Check the box and press OK.

Click OK and then click OK again to exit. Now try to run the regsvr32 command again from the command line and you should hopefully not get this error.
