PTT to adopt new IT system

The policy to build centre sharing resources across a dozen companies under PTT Chemical in order to save costs and increase efficiency for updating and integrating data has driven PTT Chemical to invest 200 million baht to establish a plant information management system, said Wirat Boonbumrungchai, Assistant Managing Director at PTT Maintenance and Engineering (PTTME), a service provider under PTT Chemical.

The company adopted Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators and the Smart Plant suite of solutions to integrate data for purchasing, engineering, maintenance and operations.

This makes PTT Chemical use a combination of owner operator and engineering, procurement and construction within the same environment to enable streamlining of handover of information from projects to operations and maintenance.

The project will be implemented within 18 months and gain the support from Neon Infotech, the local distributor of Intergraph.
